Get ready, because the Revival: Festival of Beasts is back for Lunar Revel 2026! This beloved classic from Teamfight Tactics (TFT) is returning, and whether you're a newcomer or a seasoned player revisiting this iconic event, there are exciting surprises awaiting you.
Let’s dive into some of the fantastic features of the Festival of Beasts.
First, let’s recap the core mechanic known as Chosen.
Chosen units will appear in every fourth shop, even if you already have one on your board or bench. However, there’s a catch—you can only purchase a new Chosen unit by selling the one you currently own. When you buy a Chosen unit, it will come to you already at a 2-star level, affecting its cost. Additionally, Chosen champions will provide a +1 boost to one of their traits, enhancing your overall strategy.
Here are the essential rules regarding Chosen units:
- If you encounter a Chosen unit that you’ve previously seen, its +1 trait will differ from the last time you encountered it. For instance, if you passed on an Enlightened Talon, the next Chosen Talon you see will be categorized as an Assassin Talon instead.
- Once you choose to pass on a Chosen unit, you won’t see that champion again for a few rounds.
- You won't get to see a Chosen unit if you already have more than four copies of any 4-cost champion or three copies of a 5-cost champion. However, there are no restrictions on 1/2/3-costs.
- Lastly, for a champion to be eligible to show up as a Chosen unit, there must be at least three copies remaining in the pool.
Now, let’s talk about the number of shared copies available for each cost category:
- 1-cost: 50 copies available
- 2-cost: 40 copies available
- 3-cost: 30 copies available
- 4-cost: 12 copies available
- 5-cost: 10 copies available
Next on our list are the Augments.
Unlike the original set, Augments were introduced later, and we've included some exciting new options in this revival. Here are a few fan favorites:
- Growing Roots: Elderwood units gain Maximum Health for each round they occupy their starting hex.
- The Fabled One: Wukong becomes a Fabled unit, benefiting from extra ability power. Plus, you'll receive a 2-star Wukong right away.
- Cult's Offerings: Every Gold above 40 that you hold during the planning phase grants Galio a permanent health boost.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg—there are many more Augments waiting for you to discover through gameplay!
Finally, let’s explore the Opening Encounters.
Opening Encounters is a modern addition to TFT that has proven to be a staple feature among players. Here are the exclusive Opening Encounters for the Revival: Festival of Beasts that you will be able to try out soon:
- Carousel of Vitality: Experience faster loot collection!
- Off To The Races: Predict the winner of a race to earn rewards.
