The Sacramento Kings are on a roll! Domantas Sabonis's return from injury, coupled with stellar performances, led the Kings to a decisive 128-115 victory over the Washington Wizards, marking their fourth consecutive win.
Sabonis, who had been sidelined for 27 games due to a partially torn meniscus in his left knee, made a triumphant return, contributing 13 points off the bench. He showcased his versatility with 7 rebounds and 5 assists in just over 21 minutes of play. His shooting efficiency was impressive, going 5 for 6 from the field.
Adding to the Kings' strength, Dennis Schroder also rejoined the team after serving a three-game suspension. He contributed 15 points and 5 assists, further bolstering the team's performance.
Russell Westbrook was a force to be reckoned with, scoring 26 points while shooting an impressive 9 of 14 from the field, including 6 of 9 from beyond the arc, and adding 6 assists.
The Wizards, on the other hand, struggled, with Alex Sarr leading the team with 19 points and Tre Johnson adding 18. They are now on a five-game losing streak, with a record of 10-30.
The Kings' dominance was evident throughout the game. They led 67-61 at halftime, fueled by a strong first quarter where they scored 41 points. They continued their momentum in the third quarter, outscoring the Wizards 34-23.
But here's where it gets interesting... The Wizards are without their new acquisition, Trae Young, who is sidelined with knee and quadriceps injuries and will be re-evaluated in mid-February. Could his absence be a significant factor in their recent struggles?
The Kings have now won the first three games of a seven-game homestand, improving their record to 12-30.
Up next: The Wizards will face the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night, while the Kings will host the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night.
